Ms. Alysha |
Ms. AlyshaBorn Alysha Alleyne, she grew up in Barataria and then moved to the gritty streets of Bon Air Gardens in Arouca, North-East Trinidad, where she spent her free time playing the steel pan, excelling at Hip-Hop dancing and emulating the Dancehall stylings of her idols, which included the likes of Patra, Lady G and Lady Saw as well as her favourite Dancehall artist of all time - the legendary Super Cat. In 2006 she was a strong runner in the Road March race with the now-classic “Party” (featuring two-time Road March Queen FayAnn Lyons), which took Alysha to her first International Soca Monarch Competition final, making her one of the Top Ten Soca acts of that year. The video for the song consistently charted in the Top Ten viewer requests on “D’ Scene” (Trinidad’s most popular music video countdown show) and on Tempo’s “Cross Caribbean Countdown”, and has drawn even more attention to her abilities.
