Mantius

From the tender age of four Mantius began writing his own compositions. He was only ten years old when he taught himself to play keyboards and guitar. A past student of the St Mary's College, he played an active role in the school's music program and was the keyboard player for the School Band.

Upon graduating from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, Mantius became employed as a secondary school teacher in his beloved home town, Soufriere, but music continued to be his true passion. Besides having formed his own One Man Band, and thrilling American and European guests at various hotels, Mantius played keyboards with several leading bands in St Lucia as well as overseas.

Mantius was the first St. Lucian to win the OECS soca monarch competition in 2003 with the song "I Doing A Ting." In 2004 he repeated the feat by winning with the song "We Making Love".
