Nas & Damian Marley booked for Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica 2009

For those of you planning to head to Jamaica for this year Sumfest, you’ll be glad to know that rapper Nas will be taking to the stage together with Damian Jnr Marley for International Night II at Reggae Sumfest July 25.

This will be Nas first performance in Jamaica and not only that, he will working in collaboration with Damian Marley to bring together a performance especially for Reggae Sumfest 2009.

Executive director of summerfest productions, Johnny Gourzong said that “the pairing was the result of extensive thought by the Reggae Sumfest team as to how else to make this year's event special”. He also went on to say “It will be an even more special performance since he will be performing with one of our brightest stars in Reggae music, a son of the great Robert Nesta Marley.

Nas and Damian Marley are also currently working on a collaborative album, fusing the sounds of reggae with the beats of hip hop. Album release date still to be announced.

Another confirmed international act at the Reggae sumfest stage will be R&B sensation Jazmine Sullivan performing on Friday, July 24.

Other International performers are yet to be announced, but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to find out.
