Gloomy Days Finally Over As Rihanna Releases ‘Rude Boy’Posted: 24th Feb 2010 When it comes to Rihanna it’s very hard not to like the girl, what’s not to like? She’s proved to be a strong, sexy, fashionista, continually bringing new trends to the forefront. Ok so money brought her the best stylist, but still it is nice to have a Caribbean Stunner in the limelight representing, right? Rihanna has managed to brush herself off after the highly publicised relationship with Chris Brown and continued with her hugely successful career. I for one have found myself liking the majority of Rihanna’s music over the years but with the latest drop of her album ‘Rated R’ I was very much disappointed; it seemed produced with complete disarray and a very dark sombre mood follows through the entire album. However Rihanna’s new single ‘Rude Boy’ taken off the ‘Rated R’ album seems to be the only single to stand out, it’s the only upbeat track on the album. Noted, her album was recorded and released soon after her assault by ex-boyfriend, Rihanna was obviously thinking with her state of mind back then hence the entire album being so depressing. Nevertheless Rihanna did produce ‘Rude Boy’ during her darkest days. Managing to put her vocals onto an energetic, up-tempo reggae inspired song. The video certainly captures and represents the song extraordinarily well - a dancehall-queen feel, the video lives up to true Caribbean flavour depicting colourful pop art throughout and some mesmerising booty shaking courtesy of Ms Rihanna, definitely a dance floor hit and with that I bring you more good news. Rihanna was quoted saying, “her next album will be less dark and more pop orientated”.
