Reunion for Wyclef and Lauren Hill?Posted: 4th Dec 2009 Former Fugees members, Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill are due to perform in New Zealand in the New Year. It has been confirmed that they have both been booked to perform at the Raggamuffin Music Festival on January 23rd 2010. Although they have both been booked to perform this does not mean Fugees will be performing as a band, instead they will be performing separately. The Haitian Grammy award winner has been officially booked to perform at the Ragamuffin Music Festival, in Rotorua in New Zealand. This will be the first time in a number of years since the pair has been on the same line up. The Ragamuffin Festival will be Lauryn Hill’s first performance since she cancelled her tour in June 2009. It was reported this was due to health issues. Even though The Fugees released two albums, their second album ‘The Score’ sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and the follow-up has been highly anticipated. However Wyclef Jean is hopeful that one day Fugees will reunite to record new material, but for the time being the door has been left open due to health issues with Lauryn Hill who suffers from bipolar. Wyclef filled in for Lauryn on a number of her cancelled dates, including performances at the Stockholm Jazz Festival and The Montreux Jazz Festival. The Festival will also feature some of Reggae’s all-star line-up including the likes of Shaggy, Julian Marley, Sly & Robbie, and Sean Kingston, among others. The Raggamuffin Festival will be happening on Saturday January 23 at Rotorua International Stadium. Written By: Nadia Auckburally
