Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe 2010 - La Toya WoodsPosted: 10th Nov 2009 La Toya Woods will be representing Trinidad & Tobago at the 59th Annual Miss Universe Pageant in summer 2010.
Miss Woods is 24 years old and a Psychology student in Trinidad & Tobago. The newly crowned beauty received her crown at the finals Sunday night at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad Hotel in Port of Spain.
Trinidad and Tobago did not participate in the 2009 Miss Universe competition in Bahamas this year due to lack of financial support.
But Miss Woods seems determined to make it up at next years pageant and is confident that she will do a good job at promoting Trinidad and Tobago.
Unfortunately due to controversy surrounding Anya Ayong-Chee who represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2008 Miss Universe pageant, she was not at the ceremony to hand over the crown. There has been a lot of interest surrounding Miss Chee as a private video was leaked maybe causing her to be a little embarrassed.
Nevertheless Miss Woods was also awarded for 'Model of the year' and she is due to receive just under a nice sum of $150,00 in sponsored prizes for winning the competition.
