25 Years of Miami Carnival 2009Posted: 17th Sep 2009 The 25th annual Miami carnival is due to take place on Sunday the 11th October 2009. Miami carnival has been an Annual event since 1984, and this year Miami is set to celebrate 25 years in the making. Within two years of Carnival starting it has grown from a small neighbourhood festival to an international event. To date it brings in live bands and Soca artistes, drawing them in from all over the Caribbean.
Miami carnival also known as Caribbean Mardi Gras has become the primary revenue producing festival for South Florida and is the most popular carnival in North America.
Junior Carnival Parade is always held the day before the Miami Carnival and can be found at Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami.
Ultimately Miami carnival was created to acknowledge the thousands of Caribbean residents Miami.
