Destra Garcia Pregnant with her first child

Soca Star Destra is confirmed as being pregnant and is expecting her baby sometime in January 2010.  

The unexpected baby will be the first child of Destra and her long term boyfriend Brian Morris. Brian is also Destra’s Manager, producer and the bands sound engineer.  

The Soca Diva is to have said the news took her by surprise because there was no morning sickness and her stomach has only just started to show. She sees it as the “hand of God” intervening in her plans, as they both said they would do this some day. 

Destra also said “Marriage and kids is something we always planned to do, but each year we’ve said ‘next year’.

Destra and band have toured extensively since Carnival, seeing them through Jamaica, Antigua, St Vincent, Grenada, Tortola, St John, St Thomas, New York, Manhattan and Barbados. She returned last weekend from the Hookstratten Festival in Belguim, Germany.

Destra now agrees the pace will have to slow down, but not before she completes her commitments in Miami, although this will be dependant on her doctor’s orders.

But one thing not stopping her is that she has already started working on material for Carnival 2010.
