Real Trinidian Hi I am Sugark. I was born in Trinidad and ever since birth I have been a lover of socalypso. In 1994 my radio career began As a young boy in Trinidad, I was privileged to be in the company of many top soca artistes and bands where I would hear future hits being recorded in their raw state.Listening to sound checks was sometimes a greater experience than the actual night performance. On arrival to london, It was strange not having the familiar culture of back home that I had grown to love and one fete a month was not going to quench my "cultural thirst" and at that time the World Wide Web was not link it's now. to keep abreast of what was happening in the industry I had to make regular phones calls back home.When you combine these actions plus my fairly impressive library of tunes this is what has enabled me to have an extensive knowledge of the soca industry and due to this I am often called upon by other radio stations and media publications for facts and figures and sometimes as much as actual records. It was evitable that after having such a great involvement within the fraternity that one day I would be on air and here I am more than a decade ago later still enjoying bringing the sounds of the Caribbean to all in london on a Saturday 4pm Till 6pm UK Time On TEMPO 94.4 FM
